About IAmAWitch.Com
About usIAmAWitch.Com is a privately funded entity, whose mission is to provide a wide range of factual information and services to the Pagan community.
We do some small-time advertising, mostly to just have the site support itself, but the bulk of the effort has been a labor of love and designed to connect the Pagan world together and to provide a wide-range of services put into a convienient grouping that is useful, fun, and "one of a kind".
We've been operating in varying capacities since 1997, and full-time since 2000. Thus, this makes us something of an ancient entity according to some! In all truthfulness, just when I think we have learned all there is to running a web site, I find out just how much I have to learn! The truth is that no subject is ever fully understood, even by seasoned pros. There is always room to grow, explore, and learn! So... consider IAmAWitch.Com to be a school as well as a "spiritual bar" to hang out at where you can enter with a smile and leave feeling satisfied and grinning.
Our basic philosophy
We are an open site, with practical goals and do tend to keep our focus on being "real" and relevant to people. As such, our language tends to closely resemble that of the remarks you get when you visit a corner restaurant and bar, with a comfortable clientele and adult conversation that is engaging and heartening.
Oh... And do visit our forums, Yahoo group, and check the site articles for replies and such. This is a large and potent community of nice folks who just love being Pagans and sharing ideas, knowledge, and friendship. You are sure to meet some great people along the way!
Stories and IAmAWitch...
Most of our stories are geared around life and life-affirming, positive subjects. We don't make it a habit to use the site as a political forum although occasional political discourse does appear now and then on our pages (and usually with humor injected).
We do take hard stances when we see Wicca and the Craft negatively portrayed, or when injustices in the world occur. Given our conservative bent here, we do often sound as such, but truly, we abhor the loss of life, the tragic circumstances that people find themselves in, and we tell these stories to promote the common good and shake people to action. It is not our role to bend truth, but it is our role to the tell it like we see it. To this end, opinions here are given from the heart and are open for honest, heartfelt, and vigorous critique and debate...
Stories, Poems, and more...
We hungered for many years to allow users to contribute their own works to us, in the form of articles, poetry, and stories. Our conversion to a portal package last year answered our dream of allowing this to occur, and the site has taken off because of this capability. Frankly, we depend on all of you to help introduce new content, ideas, and teachings!
We absolutely thrive on this and if you click on the "Contribute" link at the top left of our pages, you can submit a text story to us. You can also contact AJ (Just click on AJ's profile link on storys by him, or on the main page near the "Meet the staff" link, and you can email him with story ideas. We are very friendly to writers, so don't be shy!
So... If you had to categorize us, we are a "spiritual Cheers". Pull up a seat, hang your hat and cloak on the back-closet pegs, and grab your spell book. We are a lot of fun, and give you a lot to look through and to use to better your magickal life!
Blessed Be - AJ
